    Speaker Information
    Ron Jackson
Ron Jackson, editor of DNJournal.com will be giving the keynote speech on Friday, November 16.

Ron Jackson began his media career as News Director of an Ohio radio station then moved on to TV where he spent 17 years as a news and sports anchor/reporter at ABC and CBS TV stations in Florida. An entrepreneur at heart, Ron started his own business in 1989 when he opened a successful record store with a worldwide music mail order division. During this time he discovered the power of the Internet when he was able to replace expensive magazine ads with a website in 1997. Business exploded while his advertising costs dropped to a fraction of what they had been before.

A few years later, when file sharing and downloading began wiping out independent music retailers, Jackson saw a new opportunity in the medium that was making his business obsolete - the Internet. He entered the domain business in 2002 and as he began acquiring domains he was surprised to find that this fascinating industry did not have it’s own trade magazine. Ron filled that void by debuting DNJournal.com on New Year’s Day 2003. The unique combination of professional writing with his insider’s perspective resulted in a widely read publication that is now regarded as one of the institutions in the domain industry. When mainstream media outlets want to know what is happening in the domain business, they call DN Journal. The online magazine has been featured in Forbes and Newsweek magazinesThe Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the New York Times and many other publications. Ron is also an active domain owner himself. With a portfolio of more than 7,000 domains he is the only professional journalist who has intimate knowledge of how this industry works as well as direct contacts with many of the pioneers who built it.

    2007 GeoDomain Expo Auction

     presented by Associated Cities

    Nov 15th, 2007-Nov 17th, 2007

    San Francisco, CA

    GeoDomain Auction
The live GeoDomain auction will take place for four hours on the last day of the 2007 GeoDomain Expo, which is Nov. 17. Approximately 250 domains will be up for bid. Absentee bidding and telephone bidding will correspond with the auction.

A silent auction will run concurrent with the live auction and will feature more than 1,000 additional available domains. While the live domain auction will feature premium and high-value domains, the silent auction inventory has a much broader range and includes additional premier domains not selected for the live auction.

To review the full Live Auction list, visit the Geo Domain Auction page.

To help your auction research go more smoothly, Moniker has added key statistics to the download list for many of the domains. More than a dozen new criteria have been added, including key indicators, such as traffic predictions, several internet rankings and link popularity from major search engines.

Here are some important links to help you get ready:

Online Auction dates extended due to Thanksgiving Holiday

Some of the best values in the Geo Domain inventory are available in the Online "Silent" Auction. In most auction settings, Moniker runs the online portion of the auction for an additional 5-7 days past the original Live Auction date. Since that occurs over the Thanksgiving weekend, Moniker is extending the online auction until Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Now you have an even greater opportunity to look through the inventory and find valuable domains at reasonable prices.
